N&L Knives workshop is all about making high-quality
We started our knife-making path young, and we were making our first knives from the materials surrounding us and primitive tools in our father’s garage. In the beginning, we were making knives for our friends and relatives, trying to continually improve our skills and vision on what a good knife is and how it should look like. But it was just a great and exciting hobby.
In 2013, we seriously started to think about our own brand and ways to enter the knife industry under our own name and gain trust in this large and fascinating niche as Custom Folding Knives. This is how our Custom Workshop “Nikolayev & Lukianov Knives” started its life.
A separate stage in our development was training for the steel heat treatment process and obtaining the best characteristics metal can give. With the help of engineering education and knowledge in metallurgy, we began to do heat treatment of our blades ourselves. It was a serious step, but super important for us: now we got confidence that the declared characteristics and cutting ability will always be excellent and our customers will definitely be satisfied.
2013 - presentNow all our custom knives are exclusively designed, manufactured, and assembled in our workshop. Many of the knives we make are “one of a kind” collectible work of art. In our knife making process we are using exclusive techniques such as engraving by hand on metal, hand made copper, gold and silver inlays, and more.
We are trying to keep up with the times and not forgetting to put a part of our soul into each knife. Our goal is to make a knife that you will definitely love. And it will serve not only you but also your future generations.
